There will be fiestas on Saturday night and all day Sunday to celebrate the eve of the feast day of San Juan. In recent years this Romería has taken place at the river, but this year both fiestas will be held at the Asalto del Cura, which is the area known as the old bull ring. The schedule is as follows:Saturday night from 1130 PM: An open air party with a bar, live music (local band Los Latidos who play at the feria), and games/competitions.
Sunday: A day time party from approx 12 PM with Paella for everyone, a bar, music and the “carrera de cinta” which is a game on horse back.
Parking will be available at the “old bull ring”. Anyone interested in going on Sunday but needing transport can take the Ayuntamiento transport from Venta Socorro at 12PM.
Semana Cultural Highlights
Semana cultural is from Monday July 15 through to Sunday 21st. The full schedule is not yet confirmed but some highlights to put in the diary are:
Monday 15th AM The third community rubbish collection. This time it will be down at the river and we will be kicking off early so please bring breakfast. More details to follow.
Friday 19th 11pm Concert by the “Banda de Gaucin”
Saturday July 20th Music festival in the Plaza 9pm till very late Times are yet to be confirmed but we will kick off with the EZ band (Marcus, Elizabeth, Neil and Peter), followed by Biagra and finally a Spanish band Electroduendes.
