FructExpo0111Today, Thursday, January 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Fructuosa, a painter from Castellar de la Frontera, Raquel Macias, will exhibit her work. Ten years ago at the Fructuosa she had a very successful exhibit, and Gauin is happy to welcome her back. The public is invited to have a glass of sangría and to view her special works.

Also, beginning Sunday, January 23, the restaurant La Fructuosa will open for Sunday lunches.

The restaurant will be closed until later in January, for R&R and redecoration, but they are now offering fresh Irish soda bread, baked to order. These large round and yeast free loaves weigh over a kilo and freeze beautifully. Variations are endless but already tried, tested and delicious.

Types available include White flour and oats with muscatel raisins, Whole wheat flour and oats with flax and sunflower seeds, White flour and oats with green olives and herbs. Customers can mix and match and create their own combinations. Baking is done on Tuesday for orders received by Sunday evening and again on Saturday for orders received by Thursday evening, but we are flexible, just let us know. GaucinenflorSaturday, December 4, at 7 p.m., the book “Gaucín en Flor” by Francisco Benítez Márquez will be presented to the public in the Bar El Puente. The book has marvelous color plates not only of the flowers of the region, but also of the town. The book is on sale in the Papelería.
