The illustrious, always noble, very hospitable village of Gaucín.
Organized by the Asociación de Iniciativas Turísticas, the contest will continue through next week, ending next Sunday, 1 August.

Participants must try a minimum of 3 tapas in order to vote. All bars have an urn in which to deposit your voting sheet, and voting is open util August 2.

Following is the program:
Friday, 30 July at 10:30 p.m. in the Convento: Conference on flamenco with Manuel Bohórquez “El Cartel Maldito”. Aperitivos and drinks courtesy of Vinos de Gaucín.

Saturday, 31 July, 10:30 p.m. in the Pabellón Municipal:
Singers: Andrés Lozano, Juan Pinilla, Laura Román, Diego Reyes, Melchior Gavilán (a local fan of flamenco).
Dancer: Juan Andrés Maya.
Al toque: Paco Javier Jimeno, Juan Habichuela, Pepe Maya, Alberto Torres, Javier Pineda Patajito.

The Asociación de Iniciativas Turísticas organizes a contest for the best tapas every year, and everyone, locals and foreigners included, are invited to visit the bars and restaurants of the village and to vote for their favorites.

The contest takes place between July 16 to August 1, and each bar/restaurant has its own specialties. Voting papers are found in the bars and can be deposited in the urns until August 3.

This afternoon, 5 July, boys from Malaga´s primary school seminary will visit Gaucin parrish

They are having a summer holiday, during which they visit various sights in the Province of Málaga. This year Gaucin has been chosen. There are 60 boys and will be accompanied by 8 seminarians. This afternoon they will visit the church, and then climb to the castle, where they will spend the night. Tomorrow they will walk to Benarrabá. Gaucín welcomes them!
The Municipal Band is organizing a concert in the Convento.  It will take place on Friday, July 23, at 8p.m. at the Casa de Cultura, the Convento.

There will be a bar and tapas. The event is planned to raise money for the Band, which is in dire straights given the economic situation at the Town Hall. The Town Hall is collaborating in this project. Don´t miss it, and let´s be generous with contributions.

This program, produced by Globomedio, reports on houses and living quarters that, for whatever reason, are original. The owner shows the property and tell of the life and history of the house, and the spectators see other manners of living.
