Gaucin was more reminiscent of an alpine village rather than one in southern Spain after a recent fall of more than 20cm of snow blanketed the pueblo:

Gaucín Christmas Fair. Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th December, 10am-5pm, in the Old Convent.

The municipal band, 'Villa de Gaucin' will be playing a concert in honour of Santa Cecilia in the Old Convent on Saturday 26 November at 19:00hrs. Free entry, all welcome!

With the holidays fast approaching and many Gaucín establishments closed or closing for the season we would like to share with you our current and upcoming schedules.

December 24th is already fully booked and the 29th and 30th are filling up quickly.

We will then close for a short break from January 9th and will resume service on January 21 with our current hours until the Spring.

What a great event. Over 1000 participants and almost perfect weather (it was a bit windy but at least it was dry!). Many thanks to everyone involved, especially the many volunteers that helped make it happen. Thanks to Maria Jose Marquez Calvente for the photos - especially for the 6:00am start!

The programme for the Romería de La Adelfilla on Sunday 28 August is as follows:

08:30 Procession leaves the church of San Sebastián carrying the image of Santo Niño
09:00 The romería leaves the Plazoleta to follow the Camino de Gibraltar; accompanied by the Pipers of Setenil
11:00 Flamenco mass will be celebrated at the Ermita de San Juan. Transport can be provided for senior citizens - please ask at the church for details.
13:00 Music and dancing with Duo Latidos
14:00 Paella for all
18:30 The...

There will be a moonlit walk on Saturday 20 August. Meet at 21:00hrs outside Casa Antonia (Plaza de Santo Niño). The walk will be approx. 12km and take about 3-4hrs (it usually involves a snack stop!). Bring a torch - it can be quite dark in the forest despite the full moon!
