A couple of changes to the published Feria programme....

The children's water park will now take place in the school playgrounds from 16:00hrs on Friday 05 August and the Foam Party will take place in the Teneria (opposite the Caverna Bar, behind Unicaja bank) from 18:00hrs on Saturday 06 August.

THURSDAY 04 AUGUST

23:00 HRS.The procession IN honour OF THE FERIA QUEEN will leave from the Old Convent on its way to the fairground at Portechuelo accompanied by the village band “Villa de Gaucín”. We invite the peña caballista ‘El Potro’ and other horse-riders to join us on the route of the procession.

23:30 HRS. Switching on the lights of the Feria and inauguration by the Mayor of Gaucin.

24:00 HRS. CORONATION OF THE FERIA QUEEN 2016, HER ‘MAIDS OF HONOUR’ AND ‘MISTER 2016’....

A Mass to celebrate our patron saint, Our Lady of the Snows, will be held in the church of San Sebastián, Gaucín at 20:00hrs on Friday 05 August.

The programme for this year's Cultural Week is as follows:

MONDAY 18 JULY

07:30HRS – WALK TO THE FOREST TO SEE THE CORK HARVEST. (LEAVE FROM THE ‘BIRD PARK’ - ON THE LEFT OF THE RONDA ROAD JUST OUTSIDE GAUCIN – NEXT TO THE BANDSTAND). BRING BREAKFAST.

10:00HRS – ‘GENERAL KNOWLEDGE MARATHON’ FOR ALL AGES (GUADALINFO CENTRE, PASEO ANA TOVAL). 10:00-14:00HRS AND 16:00-19:00 HRS.

TUESDAY 19 JULY

19:00HRS - INAUGURATION OF THE EXHIBITION OF WORK FROM THE SENIOR CITIZEN’S WORKSHOP PLUS NEW DESIGNS FOR...

The latest 'crochet art' in Gaucín....outside the Ayuntamiento/Taberna del Zorro.....many thanks to all of those involved in the project!

The pool is open Tuesday-Sunday from 12:00-20:00hrs, closed Monday. Entry is free for under 12yrs; 12-16yrs 0.90 Euro Tue-Fri, 1.20 Euro Sat, Sun and fiestas; 16+yrs 1.50 Euro Tue-Fri, 1.80 Euro Sat, Sun and fiestas. Season tickets for July/August are available as follows; 12-16yrs 25 Euro; 16+yrs 35 Euro; Family ticket 45 Euro per couple plus 10 Euro per child over 12yrs. Please ask at the Ayuntamiento for more information.

The municipal pool opens on Friday 01 July, public hours are 12:00-20:00hrs.

Bodegas Cezar, Gaucín have won 7 medals at the Mezquita-Cordoda awards 2016: 1 Super Gold, 3 Gold and 3 Silver. Congratulations to everyone involved!

This year's Romería San Juan will take place on Sunday 19 June, beside the bridge at the Rio Genal below Gaucín. Equine events, free paella and entertainment by El Grupo Latidos!

A 24hr 5-a-side football tournament, organised by the Ayuntamiento de Gaucín, will be held on the 24 and 25 June at Gaucín school.
